Mahadevapura is predominantly an industrial area. It  is well connected with Outer Ring Road, Whitefield Road, Hoodi main Road. Krishnarajapuram Railway Station is the nearest station to board local trains. The areas like Doddanekkundi Industrial Estate and HaleDevasandra come under Mahadevapura Municipal council.

Giving credibility to the industrial nature of this region, there are many industrial establishments like Geers and Pinions, Jaico Automobile Engineering, United Telecom, IFB Industries, Brown Box Pvt. Ltd., Quantum Power Systems and Graphite India Research & Development Center.  Another notable landmark is the Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant Stockyard which is also situated here.

Even though Mahadevapura is a huge industrial area, eucalyptus plantations are found in the surroundings and wide spread. Notable educational institutions in the area include S.M. English School, Gopalan International School, St. Anne's English Medium School and Swami Vivekananda Education Trust's Vivekananda College Of Nursing.

Popular restaurants such as  like Elements, Green Park, Mapple, Matru Sagar, Vijaya Garde, Keerthi, Pavithra and Chandru  and  movie theaters Vinayaka and Vijayalaxmi add to the cultural quotient of this region.

Baiyappanahalli is also largely an industrial area. Adjacent areas include Maruti Seva Nagar, Kasturinagar and Chikka Banaswadi. The Baiyappanahalli Goods Yard is a notable landmark and acts as storage area for the railways. The east to west corridor of the Bangalore metro will begin at the Baiyappanahalli terminal and end at the Mysore road terminal.
