Div 18. SANJAY NAGAR & HEBBALA
Sanjaynagar is a residential area located in north Bangalore, India. Established in the late seventies, it is now a sprawling locality. Sanjaynagar comprises many colonies, established by the employees associations of N.G.E.F., H.A.L., C.I.L., and the like. Till date this remains in the vocabulary of the locals. Sanjaynagar is well connected to technical and medical institutions such as M. S. Ramiah College of Engineering and M. S. Ramiah Medical College and Hospital, and The Indian Institute of Science. Hebbal is an area of Bangalore, India which was once indicative of the north endpoint of the city. Though originally famous for the Hebbal lake, it is now better known for the serpentine maze of flyovers that network the Outer Ring Road and Bellary Road. The flyover spanning a length of 6.25 kilometres over all the loops combined, is the longest flyover in India [1]. The flyover was built by Gammon India Limited, The lake is well known for the park, the boating facility and for bird watching. Hebbal used to be the end of the corporation limits of Bangalore City. One can still see the milestone between the Baptist hospital and checkpost. Bangalore has now expanded considerably towards north, beyond these marks. The commencement of the Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) at Devanahalli in 2008 has ensured that Hebbal has become a very important location for the passengers flying out of Bangalore. All arterial roads and road networks leading to the BIAL intersect at Hebbal. Further, BIAL has its office on the National Highway (NH 7) exit of the Hebbal flyover in Gayathri lake front. Hebbal hosts companies such as Astra Zeneca, Integra Micro Software Services and MRO Tech. Embassy Kirslokar Business Park has changed this small semi-urban neighbourhood of Hebbal Kempapura into a sprawling modern office cum commercial hub. The Esteem Plaza and the Columbia Asia Medical Center managed by Dr. Nand Kumar is definitely one of the best high end secondary care hospitals in the north of Bangalore. With Godrej Properties[1] developing the Woodsman Estate, residential development in the area has also been incubated. Along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) just after the Nagawara lake (Lumbini Gardens), Embassy Manyata Business Park is one the largest technology and business parks in the city. Global brands like Philips Software and IBM have moved in. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has also built its corporate office opposite the Embassy Manyata Business Park. List of hospitals
